We offer two different 3 hour flame working classes.
Beginning (Soft Glass) Flame-Working Workshop:
Description:
This 3-hour class will teach you how to safely melt glass “soft glass” into decorative beads in front of an open torch! We will learn about safety, equipment, melting glass, making beads in many different shapes, decorating the beads, and cleaning the beads. Students are encouraged to take this class multiple times before moving on to the intermediate class.
Instructor: Mitch Veenstra
The class cost is $150 per person, and includes supplies.
Introduction to Flame Working with Borosilicate Glass:
Students will be introduced to some of the basic techniques that will give them the foundation necessary to begin on the amazing journey of flame-worked glass. After learning how to create a gather of glass, and then transferring the gather to another rod (creating a punty), students will then utilize these skills to make a mushroom marble. Once students are comfortable with this technique we will then explore a slightly more advanced marble/pendant technique called a base head. This pattern technique resembles craters on the moon! These are just two marbles/pendants students will be able to take home.
Instructor: Darron Hensley
The class cost is $150 per person, and includes supplies.
Each class has a maximum of 3 students.
